Prepare learners to be lifelong learners
A clear understanding how the brain learns/thinks and remembers
The future of education is no longer confined by four walls with a teacher and a set of prescribed textbooks; it is no longer just about reading, writing and mathematics. If education is to prepare young people for the world they are about to enter then the future of education just got a whole lot brighter and a whole lot more exciting. With knowledge increasing exponentially it is no longer possible to predict what students will need to know in five years time let alone within their lifetimes hence the main focus of education systems is to develop the capacity for lifelong learning within every learner. So what does this mean for leaders who will lead schools through the greatest set of changes in education in history? In this paradigm shift there are four domains that all need addressing simultaneously
Developing a curriculum that will prepare learners to be lifelong learners and have the rigour that results in understanding of the key ideas in each competency and curriculum area
A clear understanding how the brain learns/thinks and remembers
An integrated online SMS/LMS/ePortfolio
A set of teaching and learning practices that use these 3 capacity building tools to significantly increase the learning.
